ONE OF NATION’S LARGEST PUBLIC FAST CHARGING NETWORKS JOINS LOW CARBON FUELS COALITION

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (January 24, 2024) – The Low Carbon Fuels Coalition, a technology- neutral trade association with a proven record of expanding clean fuel standards, announced today that EVgo Inc. (NASDAQ: EVGO), one of the nation’s largest public fast charging networks for electric vehicles (EVs), has joined the coalition.

Over 145 million people in the U.S. live within 10 miles of an EVgo fast charger, with more fast charging locations being built across the nation to increase access to public charging. With a mission to expedite the mass adoption of electric vehicles, EVgo is committed to protecting our environment by making it easy for drivers to go electric.

“We’re thrilled to join the Low Carbon Fuels Coalition and support the transition from fossil fuels to a new transportation sector with zero-carbon fuels,” said Priscilla Hamilton, Director, Market Development and Public Policy at EVgo. “With over 950 fast charging locations across more than 35 states, we can assist in increasing access to low and zero-carbon fuels like electricity.”

EVgo has joined the Low Carbon Fuels Coalition to support the work done by the organization to promote clean transportation fuel standards at the state and national level. These policies significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by providing a strong market incentive to reduce carbon intensity (the amount of carbon to produce that unit of fuel) of fuels used in transportation.

California, Washington, and Oregon all have implemented a Clean Fuel Standards. Similar measures are being considered in New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan and Minnesota.

“EVgo is a strong addition to the diverse membership of the Low Carbon Fuels Coalition,” said Executive Director Robin Vercruse. “Electric vehicles are a key component for decarbonizing the transportation sector. We welcome EVgo and look forward to working together to get more policy wins on the books this year.”

EVgo joins a growing list of coalition members, including Amazon, American Airlines, Boeing, Cargill, Neste, Poet, UPS, and Waste Management.

“Our members share a common commitment to significantly reducing greenhouse gases in transportation in the next decade,” said Vercruse. “More and more companies and organizations are joining the Coalition to not only support their overall sustainability goals, but also to collectively advocate for and support the most effective and efficient policy to get us there. The Low Carbon Fuels Coalition is uniquely dedicated to that cause.”
